Below are 48 high res images showcasing many of the 3D digital matte paintings I did for LAIKA’s Golden Globe winning and Academy Award nominated Missing Link. Nearly all of the set extensions are fully realized 3D digital matte paintings. Also included here are a few sequence sky domes created in Terragen.

Before and Afters
The video is a “before and after” slideshow of stills showcasing some of my set extensions and matte paintings. I wanted to illustrate the challenge of realizing and seamlessly blending my work with highly stylized practical stage elements and other CG/VFX work so the green screen flash illustrates what parts of the scenes are digital matte painting set extensions.
